Saturday is a good day with available times being within these periods – 9.30am to 1pm or 2.30pm to 5.30pm. The period is up to 1½ hours with the venue usually being booked half an hour before the time of the actual wedding. It is possible to play your own CD of music or screen a short DVD either before or after the ceremony. In the event of either we need the media 14 days before the day to check satisfactory operation on our equipment. You can provide your own cinema style posters (A2 size) for the display boards outside. We have limited facilities for refreshments but it is sometimes possible to provide them by separate arrangement.
The cost is £600 which includes 2-3 reception staff, but not the Registrar with whom you must make separate arrangements before booking us. (Waveney Register Office in Lowestoft – Tel: 01502 405096). We usually have an organist available for an extra charge of £75.00. The Picture Palace booking will be made upon receipt of a non-refundable £50 deposit, the balance to be paid at least 7 days before the wedding. The cost includes a free initial visit but additional visits are charged at £25 for up to half an hour. All payments must be in cash or by cheque to “Southwold Film Society”.
If you want confetti there is an additional £25 charge to cover the extra cleaning costs. This also applies to any distribution of popcorn for the same reason. But bubbles are fine and there is no charge for that. We try to ensure that the front of the cinema is free of vehicles so that there is space for the Registrar to park and for the bridal vehicle. But there is no parking restriction or designated space so we cannot guarantee it.
